EDFacts may not be a chronological teenager, but it’s definitely at that awkward stage. USED isn’t providing financial support anymore to the SEAs. SEAs have accommodated the majority of the EDFacts requirements, but must make annual modifications. Enough years of data are in to begin causing concern about changes in definitions and data quality across the years. Ah, the growing pains seem to compound with every improvement implemented.
The Eduguru speaks: The single most significant help USED can give SEAs would be to publish the specifications earlier. That’s a fact that would make life in the SEA calmer.
